Dr. Sheba K. George – Superintendent and CEO
Dr. Sheba K George

Dr. Sheba K. George is the founder of Newman International Academy of Arlington. She and her family worked to have a charter school in their community because they realized the need for a safe haven with a private school nurture and rigor that can cater to students of all economic levels, especially those children who cannot afford private school fees. Dr. George’s passion is to see generations of children in America rise up to have and fulfill great dreams. She is committed to seeing children of our nation meet the demands of the world marketplace in all fields including science, technology, engineering (especially aerospace, and computer engineering), mathematics, literature, writing, law, journalism, fine arts and sports.

According to Dr. George, “excellence can be achieved in all fields by sowing seeds of knowledge, ‘conceptual understanding,’ ‘procedural fluency,’ ‘strategic competence’ and problem solving skills in the soil of America’s unsurpassable creativity. These seeds can grow to see success only in an environment of nurture, care, hard work, and discipline. One must always remember that true success and good character are inseparable.” Dr. George also believes that “every child has some gift, and the school partnership with parents and community can help every child reach his or her highest potential. ’No child’ should be ‘left behind.’ ”

 

Mrs. Betty Sims – Assistant Superintendent
Betty Sims

Mrs. Betty Sims is a native of Seattle, Washington and graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Speech and Hearing Pathology. She also received training as a Language Therapist and Specialized Reading Teacher working with children with Dyslexia and other reading related challenges.

Mrs. Sims served 22 years in Christian and public education as a teacher and principal, with a focus in charter school education. She resides in Arlington and is married with two children and five grandchildren.

 

Dr. Marilyn Dardenne – Project Manager/ Instruction and Curriculum Specialist/ CTE Education & Training Teacher
Dr. Marilyn Dardenne

Dr. Dardenne has over 20 years of educational experience as a teacher, campus technologist, principal and head of school. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degre from  Texas A&M University, a master’s degree from Sam Houston State University, and a doctorate from Texas Wesleyan University.

 

Mr. Robert Howe – District Coordinator 
Robert Howe

Mr. Rob Howe has spent more than 35 years in education. He holds a Master of Arts degree from Auburn University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Birmingham-Southern University.

 

Dr. Keith Wagler – District Athletic Director
Dr. Keith Wagler

Dr. Keith Wagler has been an educational leader since 1980. After graduating from Trinity Bible College, he began teaching and coaching. Dr. Wagler attended Northern State University, graduating in 1987 with a BS in Secondary Education, Health, PE, and Recreation. He earned an EdD from United States Sports Academy, Daphne, AL, in 2006. He has 31 years of education in college and high schools in North Dakota, Illinois, Indiana, and Texas.

RJ Koland – Development Director 
RJ Koland

Born in rural Minnesota, Mr. Koland was educated in a one room log school house through the 8th grade. After high school graduation he followed the call of God on his life to become a pastor by enrolling at North Central University in Minneapolis. He was offered his first church in 1962 and has remained active in the ministry since that time.
He has been an ordained minister since 1971. He and his wife, Marilyn have been married for over 50 years and have served the Lord together in six churches in Minnesota, Michigan and Texas. They have traveled extensively in missions ministries. They have three children and eleven grandchildren.
His education also includes: The University of Minnesota and Bethel Theological Seminary. He completed several on-going education technology courses at community colleges.
In 1991, RJ was asked by Carriage Town Ministries in Flint, Michigan to become their Director of Development and help them raise the funds to open a shelter for homeless women and children. He has been bi-vocational ever since that date.
For several years, he was Director of Development and Homiletics Professor at Christ For The Nations in Dallas and an Adjunct Professor for Global University. RJ established The College of the Word in Redwood Falls, Minnesota with 42 students as an extension of North Central University. He taught eschatology, pneumatology, and the Pentateuch. He was the Bible Department Head at Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill for many years before joining Newman Academy in 2014. He serves Newman as the Development Director providing leadership in campus expansions, property development, personnel management, marketing, and fund raising.

 

Randall Hudson – Assistant Director of Development and Marketing
Randall Hudson

Randall Hudson has over 25 years of experience in leadership, finance, sales, and marketing. He studied at the University of Texas at Arlington and has served in various roles with some of the top financial institutions in the world. His most recent experience prior to Newman International Academy is the General Manager at Hawaiian Falls Waterpark where he trained thousands of teens to be warriors for tomorrow.

Donna Hart – Secondary Principal
Donna Hart

Mrs. Donna Hart has been an educational leader since 1977. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a certification to teach All Level Art from UT Arlington. Her Master of Education in Leadership was earned from Dallas Baptist University, with a certification for the Principalship, K-12. Mrs. Hart has pioneered and led multiple schools, but has never been more fulfilled than she is at NIAA! She is passionate to see transformation in the lives of her secondary students, and she is committed to helping each of them become successful adults who fulfill their purpose in life.

 

Daniel Mendoza – Secondary Assistant Principal

Mr. Mendoza has a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science with a specialization in Public Administration. He has served in private and charter schools for over 17 years as a teacher and administrator. Originally from Grand Prairie, Texas, Mr. Mendoza served in the U.S. Navy as an Air Traffic Controller aboard the USS Enterprise and Naval Air Technical Training Center, eventually settling in Pensacola, Florida. He returned to Texas in 2013. He now lived in the metroplex with his wife and two daughters.

 

Wendy Dansby – Elementary Principal and Director
Wendy Dansby

Mrs. Wendy Dansby has been an educational leader since 2000. She graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a Bachelor in Liberal Arts. She also graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Master of Education in Educational Leadership. She is passionate about preparing students to become future leaders.

 

Carinia Hornbuckle – Elementary Assistant Principal
Carinia Hornbuckle

Mrs. Carinia Hornbuckle is a graduate of Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, and her Masters of Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University pursuing a Principal certification. With many years of teaching experience and over 15 years of mentorship, Mrs. Hornbuckle has a passion for teaching life lessons as well as academics. Her hobbies include singing, traveling, and motivational speaking. Prior to joining the Newman family, Mrs. Hornbuckle toured with Gospel Recording Artist Kirk Franklin on the Hopeville Tour. Having three children attending Newman International Academy, she is fully invested in the vision of raising Warriors of wisdom, stature, and favor.

 

Kristen Stock – Elementary Assistant Principal

Kristen Stock completed her undergraduate work in 2003 at the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2014, she received her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University in Austin. During her career, she has been a teacher in the elementary and middle school levels and been an administrator at the elementary and middle school levels also.

 

 

NIA Pioneer Administration

Mr. Jay Tinklenberg – Middle School Principal
Jay Tinklenberg

Jay Tinklenberg began serving students as a counselor, teacher, and coach in 1987.  Mr. Tinklenberg earned a BA from Calvin College in History and Secondary Education and an MS from South Dakota State University in Counseling and Human Resource Development with an emphasis in School Administration.   Over the course of his career, Mr. Tinklenberg has served in instruction, leadership, counseling, and coaching in three states and four different schools.

Lindsay Moore – Secondary Assistant Principal

Lindsay Moore is currently serving in the role of Assistant Principal and Middle School Athletic Director at the Pioneer Campus. He has served in education since 2004 as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Lindsay graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a Bachelor of Science in Religion and Business Administration. He has worked with students in various capacities for over two decades.

 

Mr. Jayson Lewis – Middle School Assistant to the Principal
Jayson Lewis

 
Jayson "Coach" Lewis has been involved in education since 2006. He holds a B.A.I.S. in Math and Science Studies for Adolescent Learners as well as his Master of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies both earned from UT Arlington (GO MAVS!!). Mr. Lewis is humbled by the opportunity to work with the students, families, and staff of multiple Newman International Academy campuses. He only hopes that he has made as big of an impact on each of their lives as they have on his.

 

NIA Cedar Hill Administration

Subhas Mathew – Principal/ Civil Air Patrol Leader
Subhas Mathew

Subhas Mathew has been in education since 2003 both as a teacher and an administrator. He was the Headmaster of an international school for four years and has been teaching elementary and middle school science since 2008.  He loves to motivate his students and help them succeed.

 

Stephanie White-Robinson – Assistant to the Principal

Mrs. Stephanie White-Robinson was born and raised in Dallas, TX. Upon graduating from South Oak Cliff High School, she served in the United States Navy as an Engineman. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from UTA. She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Education in Educational Administration.

She has volunteered and sponsored a Girl Scout Troop for many years. She is currently volunteering with the Boy Scouts. She is dedicated to helping students become productive adults who will make a positive influence on the world. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family.

 

Holly Temte – Assistant Principal

Mrs. Holly Temte graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute, Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and University of Texas at Arlington. She has almost ten years of classroom teaching experience, over 25 years of pastoral experience, and has been an elementary assistant principal for two years. Married for over 30 years to Joe Temte, she has two children and enjoys collecting Talavera pottery, making Ukrainian eggs, and boating with family and friends.

 

NIA Grace Administration

Shauna Moore – Elementary Principal
Shauna Moore

Mrs. Shauna Moore graduated from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Since that time, she has been working with children and teens through both leading community programs and teaching in public and charter schools. Her previous experience in social work and leading community programs provides experience and expertise in the social service field while providing a background for working with families in diverse and often challenging situations.
Mrs. Moore has been working in or with public and charter schools for over 15 years. She left the social service field to teach and work in Dallas urban schools. Later, Mrs. Moore taught in suburban areas of the Dallas /Ft. Worth metropolis.
In addition to her principal certification, Mrs. Moore is a certified Texas teacher in multiple areas including: EC- 8th Generalist, Speech Communications 8-12th, Theater EC-12th, and ESL supplemental. She completed a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.

 

NIA Fort Worth Administration

Dale Duncan – Elementary Principal

Mrs. Dale Duncan earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University in 1998. She earned her M.E.D in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Dual Language Education from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2010. Mrs. Duncan believes in providing students the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe and promotes excellence. Mrs. Duncan taught at Sam Houston High School in Arlington ISD from 2003- 2015. Mrs. Duncan served as assistant principal at Newman Academy of Arlington and currently serves as principal at Newman Academy of Ft. Worth Elementary school.

 

NIA Mansfield Administration

Keith Shull – Elementary Principal
Keith Shull

Mr. Keith Shull completed undergraduate work in 1982 at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas earning a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. In 2010, he received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. During his career, Mr. Shull has served in the capacity of teacher at the middle school level and as an administrator at both middle and high school levels.
